Sleep }}Alp is a nighttime enemy from the Beasts faction. == Spawning == Alps spawn everywhere, except forests, swamps, hills and mountains. They can also be encountered in Ending the Nightmare contracts, that appear in villages except forest ones. == Skills == {| class="article-table" style="font-size:85%;" ! align="center" |Icon ! align="center" |Name ! align="center" |AP ! align="center" |Fatigue ! align="left" |Description |- |- |- |- |} == Loot == |-|Regular origins= * A Parched Skin (40% chance), Third Eye (40% chance) or Petrified Scream (20% chance). * 20% chance of a Soul Splinter (300 crowns). |-|Beast Slayers= * A Parched Skin (40% chance), Third Eye (40% chance) or Petrified Scream (20% chance). 50% chance of another, rolling separately. * 20% chance of a Soul Splinter (300 crowns). ==Behavior== Alp groups are only visible and interactable at night. Sometimes there are Direwolves alongside them, including Frenzied ones. Alps fight by first putting their enemies to sleep and then casting nightmares, dealing damage and waking them up. You can wake up an ally for 4 AP, and Rally the Troops wakes up everyone in its range. When one Alp takes damage, they all teleport to tiles one empty space away from you. They have no zone of control, and are unable to break free from nets, and can't even teleport when caught. Fleeing Alps don't actually flee, probably due to a bug. One brother standing near them is enough to prevent rallying, as long as he isn't sleeping. ==Tips== *Resolve protects against both Sleep and Nightmare. *Alps can stunlock an already sleeping brother, using Nightmare then Sleep. They don't actively try to do it though. *Don't hurry to attack the first Alp you see. They will all teleport and attack you instead of spending all AP on movement. *Prefer blunt and slashing damage. Ranged weapons are not recommended due to resistance and Nighttime. *Stand in your banner's resolve aura to resist their attacks and be affected by Rally the Troops. *Their attacks are mental, so Witchhunters, Undead Trophy, Protective Runes and Sigils and Mad trait are effective against it. *Lack of zone of control allows you to step back if you miss and have enough AP. *They can't teleport if stunned, fleeing or caught in net. *Alps' inability to break free makes nets extremely useful. Have some in your inventory in the early game to make easy money on an occational Alp contract. *Alps' attacks deal direct damage to HP, so fighting them without body armor/helmets/shields can help you reduce the penalty to your soldiers' initiative and maximum fatigue. But beware: they can be accompanied by (Frenzied) Direwolves. Navbox Enemies
