__TOC__ ==Contracts== Contracts are missions that can be accepted in Settlements. Completing a contract will reward your company with crowns, Renown, and better Relations with the settlement or the noble house that offered the contract. However, failing to fulfill a contract lowers your company's local Relations and the company's Renown. You may only have one active contract at a time. The crowns reward increases with your company's Renown. Some contracts, such as the noble houses contracts, are only available with a certain level of Renown. {| style="margin-top:-30px; margin-bottom:-30px;" |
|Contract targets can be identified with a golden coin on the Global Map. |} ==Haggling== NOTE: the information provided in this section is primarily based on Negotiation Mechanics Steam post. === Relations Penalty === Before taking a contract, it is possible to haggle for better pay. However, each haggling attempt will worsen Relations by 0.5 points with the settlement if you don't have the Negotiator follower. === Annoyance === When you start negotiating, a hidden variable called Annoyance determines how things will go. Every time you haggle, you gain a random amount of Annoyance between 3 and 6. This number is a float so that you can draw fractional numbers like 4.5. If your Annoyance hits 9 or higher, you are kicked out and take a substantial reputation penalty with the person trying to hire you. You accumulate Annoyance whether the haggle attempt succeeds or fails. Having the Negotiator cuts the annoyance gain in half, i.e., to 1.5 - 3 per haggle. === Success Chance === The odds of a haggle failing are equal to your Annoyance * 0.1. You collect Annoyance for haggling BEFORE rolling. Thus, your first haggle attempt will have a failure rate of somewhere between 30-60%, with an average failure rate of 45%. === Consequences of Success === If you ask for more pay, the value of the contract increases between 4-11%. The game tries to increase all forms of compensation by this amount (e.g., completion pay, advance pay, pay per head), but because of rounding issues, you sometimes get less. If you ask for payment in advance, the game subtracts 25% from your completion and per-head pay and adds it to the advance pay. Because of rounding issues, you usually lose money overall. The Negotiator increases the proportion of your pay that can be asked for in advance. If you ask for more pay per head, the game subtracts 25% from completion and advance pay and adds it to the per-head pay. You might lose money due to rounding. You could lose even more if you don't collect the maximum number of heads. You can increase your pay more than once if you risk it. Some real game examples: {| class="fandom-table" !Pay Increase Type !Advance !After Completion !Per Head !Max Heads !Total |- |Nothing |$0 |$610 |$10 |15 |$760 |- |Total |$0 |$640 |$11 |15 |$805 |- |Per Head |$0 |$410 |$20 |15 |$710 |- |Advance |$150 |$510 |$5 |15 |$735 |} ==Contract Types== {| align="right" style="border: 2px solid #3d3d3d; margin-left:15px;" ! style='background: #3d3d3d' width='60' |Easy ! style='background: #3d3d3d' width='60' |Medium |- | | |- ! colspan='2' style='background: #3d3d3d' |Hard |- | colspan='2' | |} Contracts will ask for more or less the same tasks to be completed. However when, where and who you fight may vary widely. Contract difficultly is measured with skulls. More skulls means more danger, but a better pay. Contract types that involve destroying a location replace existing enemy forces for the new one scaled to the contract difficulty. For example, a coven full of Necrosavants can have them replaced by Ancient Auxiliary if the contract difficulty is low. One or two skull contracts can overwrite Named Items that a location may be holding. {| class="article-table" width="100%" ! align="center"| ===Civilian Contracts=== |- |- |- |- |- |- |- |- |- |- |- |- |- |- |- |- |- |- |} {| class="article-table" width="100%" ! align="center" | ===Noble Contracts=== |- |- |- |- |- |- |- |- |- |- |- |- |- |- |- |- |- |- |- |- |- |} {| class="article-table" width="100%" ! align="center" | ===Southern Contracts=== |- |- |- |- |- |- |- |- |- |- |}
