你发现剑术大师坐在树桩上，眺望远方。
"你知道，像我这样在杀人行当里干得太久的老头，最近总算想明白一件事。如今我比从前懂得多了，懂得越多，就越清楚自己还有多少不懂。回头一想，年轻时的我真是个蠢货。可再想想那些死在我剑下的人呢？他们还那么年轻，还有那么多活头，就被我一剑截断了。"
你在旁边坐下，耸了耸肩。他继续说。
"我明白了，我杀掉的，其实是智慧。我让这世上少了许多本能活到老的人，也带走了他们本可积累的学问与见识。我毁掉了多少种未来啊。在那些未来里，他们活下去，继续活下去，做出连自己都还没想到的伟大事情。要是我第一次与人交手，就被对方杀了，他能救下多少条命？又能留下多少智慧？抱歉，我不是有意唠叨。"
他站起身，拍拍颤巍巍的腿。你拉住他的胳膊。
"你有没有想过，你也可能救下了许多种未来？那些被你杀掉的人，或许活下去会变成可怕的恶徒。"
他笑了笑。但你知道，他早已想过这一层，只是不愿拿答案来搅扰你。他只是点点头，便去追赶其他弟兄了。

You find Swordmaster剑术大师 sitting on a stump. He's looking out at the land.
"You know, I've realized something as an old man who has operated far too long in this business of killing. I'm so much wiser these days. I've come to know so much, so much that I now know what I don't know. And I look back and think, I was such a dummy back in my youth. Then I thought, what of all the men I've slain, stopping their mortal coil when it was young and so ready to spring?"
You take a seat and shrug. He continues.
"What I've realized is that I'm a killer of wisdom. That I took a lot of old men out of this world, and with them went so much learning and knowledge. There's so many worlds out there that I destroyed. Worlds where those men lived and went on living and did the great things they knew not was in them. Had the first man I fought slew me down, how many lives would he have saved? How much wisdom would have been spared? I'm sorry, I don't mean to drone on."
The man stands, patting his wobbly legs. You grab his arm.
"Have you considered that you may have also saved worlds? That some of those men you've slain could have lived on to be horrible monsters?"
He smiles, but you know he's already thought that through and doesn't wish to disturb you with the answer. He simply nods before going off to join the rest of the company.
