你打开粮箱，看到了最后一点储备。一只苹果在箱底滚来滚去，咕噜作响，像极了空肚子的抱怨。旁边还有几块面包，以及一块裹在厚叶子里的肉。就这些了。
你合上箱盖，转过身，屠夫正站在面前。
"头儿，看样子咱们遇上麻烦了。要不，让我……解决一下？"
说着，他用拇指朝身后一指，正对着拴在木桩上的两条战犬。
狗儿们乖乖坐着，吐舌喘气，一副心满意足的模样。它们似乎总是这么快乐。可你还有人要喂，还有仗要打。你准许屠夫动手，做对战团有利的事。
屠夫慢慢走向那几条狗，一只手伸出去抚摸，另一只手把刀藏在背后。你没留下看接下来的一幕，可一声短促的哀叫之后，紧接着又是一声，仍让你本就空着的胃翻腾起来。

屠夫耸了耸肩。
"团长，不过是狗罢了。杂毛狗，野种。除了认得自己的名字，什么也不懂的畜生。往后需要，幼崽到处都能找。"
你再次摇了摇头。
"狗不能杀，屠夫。也别以为我没看见你眼里那点兴奋。你想宰它们，可不只是为了填几张嘴。"
屠夫只能再次耸耸肩。
"什么事能让我快活，也不是我能选的，团长。不过，我听命令。"

You open a crate of food to find the last of your reserves. An apple rolls across the bottom, sounding not unlike the grumble of an empty stomach as it totters about. A few loaves of bread give it some company and there is a piece of meat wrapped in a thick leaf. That's it.
When you close the lid and turn around, Butcher屠夫 the butcher is standing there.
"Hey there boss. I see we got a problem. So how about I... fix it?"
Just then, he thumbs over his shoulder, right in the direction of two war dogs chained up to a stake.
The dogs are sitting rather studiously, panting and looking pretty content, so durable is their sense of happiness. But you've mouths to feed and battles to fight. You give Butcher屠夫 the go ahead to do what is right for the company.
The butcher meanders his way toward the mutts, holding out one hand to pet them as the other clutches a knife behind his back. You do not stick around to watch what happens next, but a short yelp quickly followed by another turns your already empty stomach.

You shake your head no.
"Absolutely not. They are as part of the company as any man, and certainly some men would rather starve than eat their own."
The butcher shrugs.
"They're just dogs, sir. Mutts. Mongrels. Ain't nothing but a beast that knows its name and little else. There are plenty of pups to find when we need them."
Again, you shake your head.
"We're not killing the dogs, Butcher屠夫. And don't think I don't see the glint in your eye. There's more to slaughtering them animals than just feeding a few mouths."
Butcher屠夫 can only shrug again.
"I can't pick and choose what gives me pleasure, sir, but I'll follow yer orders."
